2018 Teesside Business Innovation Award

Applied Scientific Technologies (AST) was founded in 2017 Stokesley North Yorkshire. It was set up by two company directors from the sister company, Applied Integration. AST are innovative specialists in robotics, automated control systems and hardware integration into life and physical sciences, industrial, laboratory and medical applications.

In 2018, AST attended the North East Business Awards event where there were 12 different categories to compete for. The North East Business Awards is one of the biggest business events in the UK with almost 2,000 people attending from our region. The awards are held in association with the North East Chamber of Commerce and they highlight which organisations within our region are setting the standard.

AST were proud to say that they won the Innovation award which was sponsored by Teesside University.

“The North East Business Innovation Award category was an extremely strong category, we have fantastic companies in the north east doing some amazing things, to be nominated for this award was one achievement, but to go on and win the grand final was beyond our expectations, it was a very proud moment for the whole team”, says Garry Lofthouse, CEO of AST.
