Heating and Cooling Blocks
Thermal Stability - Ensuring Physical Integrity of Products
Can be fit onto almost any robotic system
The Heating and Cooling Block was designed, developed and manufactured by the AST team with thermal stability testing in mind.
Heating and Cooling Block Capabilities:
Heat and Cool to within +/- 0.5°C
Temperature range of 0°C to 100°C, however, these can be altered upon request
Precise temperature stability ensures reproducibility of results
Temperatures can be reached within 15 minutes
Custom block modules provide flexibility (different size tubes, number of vials or racks)
Stability Testing is vital for ensuring cosmetic products meet the intended physical, chemical and microbiological quality standards as well as functionality and aesthetics when stored under specified conditions.
Future Proofed Technology
The block is covered by a protective, insulated material so prevents any direct contact between the operator and the hot metal block, this means it can also be mounted to a collaborative robot such as Hyve.
Multiple Heating & Cooling blocks were recently deployed on the HyveTM cobot platform for a client in stability testing or forced degradation of consumer products.

Thermal stability is vital for the safe manufacture, storage and transportation of products to ensure physical integrity for chemical formulation, cosmetics and pharmaceutical products.
Applied Integration UK LTD is excited to introduce our new demo room located in Stokesley, North Yorkshire. The demo room is a space within our organisation where we can demonstrate exciting technologies to our customers which enable improved productivity, safety and efficiency.
Pick up the news today, and we are surrounded by new technological innovations for everything from measuring our heart beat in real-time from a watch while we ‘Work, Rest and Play’, what’s in our fridge and that it can tells us when food is out-of-date or can instantly automate the purchase of new products via the Internet of Things (IoT) and up to and including Industry 4.0 and the next industrial revolution.
Artificial intelligence makes production more efficient, flexible and reliable. AI is a technology which handles masses of big data. It can handle tons of data at once but also needs tons of data to be trained, this means it is very useful for IoT.
AST brings a wealth of knowledge developing proof of concepts, production apps and device/instrument integration. Often, you will find that simple solutions don’t require purchasing and deploying new devices and systems.
Applied Scientific Technologies (AST) are delighted to announce we will become an observing member of SiLA, the future for Industry 4.0 standards in laboratory automation. This partnership will allow AST to progress within the lab automation industry and we hope contribute to the wider development and adoption of SiLA.
Applied Scientific Technologies during COVID-19, helped make and supply Visors to NHS and Care workers across the UK using their 3D Printing Technologies. Read more about how we helped our heroes here.
In 2018, AST attended the North East Business Awards event where there were 12 different categories to compete for. The North East Business Awards is one of the biggest business events in the UK with almost 2,000 people attending from our region. The awards are held in association with the North East Chamber of Commerce and they highlight which organisations within our region are setting the standard.
