Deft Reactor
Your Workflow, Your Instruments, Made Digital
Connected Digital Workflow
Working with partners GPE Scientific and major instrument manufacturer Julabo, the Deft Reactor system brings device integration, digital control and the same reporting features of deft to lab reactors.
The Deft Reactor has been developed using the SiLA 2 protocol within its systems.
Your Workflow
The connected lab instruments via the Deft Reactor, can be fully controlled via the user-friendly, intuitive, dedicated app. Data can be input manually or automatically from a connected LIMS or ERP system putting you in charge of your experimental design and workflow.
You can operate and view the progress of your experiment remotely in real-time via the app. Over the air updates ensure your system is always state of the art and easily adaptable to the latest techniques.
Another milestone in the Deft ,Lab-of-the-Future series from AST and the integration of another Anton-Paar analytical instrument for formulation groups in the chemical and material sciences industry.
Working with partners GPE Scientific and major instrument manufacturer Julabo, the new Deft Reactor system brings device integration, digital control and reporting features of Deft to lab reactors.
In some instances, direct data acquisition from common lab equipment is not possible, such as this thermomixer widely used in R&D in many consumer food and beverage formulation labs. To solve this issue, AST have set up a raspberry pi and camera module along with a bespoke lab-friendly mounting system to record the device display without hindering usability.
Specialising in Laboratory 4.0, Digital Twins, Collaborative and Autonomous Robots, System Integration, Internet of Things (IoT), SILA and Artificial Intelligence. AST use all the emerging technologies of the digital world available and apply them to the unique challenges faced by laboratory businesses to improve transparency and productivity.
AST are the global specialists for SiLA 2 integration and development and the latest addition to our growing library of laboratory instruments includes a custom SiLA driver for the Julabo Presto A30. The Julabo Presto is a temperature control system with a working temperature range of -30 to 250 DegC.
AST are the global specialists for SiLA 2 integration and development and the latest addition to our growing library of laboratory instruments includes a custom SiLA driver for the IKA RCT Digital Hotplate. The IKA RCT is a Hotplate / Magnetic Stirrer unit with a heating element of up to 310 Degrees Celsius and a magnetic stirrer of 50 to 1500 RPM. The IKA Hotplate has a handheld temperature probe for taking point readings for feedback during heating. The probe fits to the rear of the unit and reports the temperature continuously.
Applied Integration UK LTD is excited to introduce our new demo room located in Stokesley, North Yorkshire. The demo room is a space within our organisation where we can demonstrate exciting technologies to our customers which enable improved productivity, safety and efficiency.
The Radwag XA82 analytical balance is designed for accurately measuring small amounts of weighed material. It features standard control via front touch screen, encompassing a wide range of settings and controls.
Applied Scientific Technologies (AST) are the global specialists for SiLA driver development and have linked many standard lab bench equipment to Deft using the SiLA 2 communications protocol. Our latest addition to our growing library is the OHaus Pioneer PX. This is a widely used precision balance which offers communication via RS232 / USB. The OHaus provides a range of transmittable commands and defined responses for remote operation.
Pick up the news today, and we are surrounded by new technological innovations for everything from measuring our heart beat in real-time from a watch while we ‘Work, Rest and Play’, what’s in our fridge and that it can tells us when food is out-of-date or can instantly automate the purchase of new products via the Internet of Things (IoT) and up to and including Industry 4.0 and the next industrial revolution.
Our SiLA drivers are then developed as a combination of SiLA features, allowing for greater code reuse. This also allows us to use devices with minimal (potentially none at all) changes to the application. Along with being user-friendly this has the potential to reduce the learning curve for using new devices.
Deft is a scalable, laboratory digital network product to integrate bench-top instruments together in for chemical formulation and R&D labs. Deft can work as a stand-alone system or as part of an existing LIMS connected infrastructure.
AST are the global specialists for SiLA driver development and the latest addition to our growing library includes a custom SiLA driver for Anton Paar rheometer systems, specifically the RheolabQC system, perfect for the biotech and food & beverage industry in new formulations development.
Applied Scientific Technologies (AST) are delighted to announce we will become an observing member of SiLA, the future for Industry 4.0 standards in laboratory automation. This partnership will allow AST to progress within the lab automation industry and we hope contribute to the wider development and adoption of SiLA.
Applied Scientific Technologies (AST) are regularly adapting and updating Deft Gateways to ensure it is compatible with many different types of lab equipment.
The Digital Enabled Formulation Toolset (Deft) provides the information gap when comparing manually made bench formulations and offers a new way for scientists to accurately create formulation instructions with ease.
In 2018, AST attended the North East Business Awards event where there were 12 different categories to compete for. The North East Business Awards is one of the biggest business events in the UK with almost 2,000 people attending from our region. The awards are held in association with the North East Chamber of Commerce and they highlight which organisations within our region are setting the standard.
