Utilising the Latest Techman Collaborative Robot Arm to Ensure Compliance with Safety Legislation
Applied Scientific Technologies software team have been working on enhancing modular software designs to allow ‘on the fly’ platform reconfiguration with the latest Techman Robot Arm. The new Techman Arm complies with the latest safety regulations for human collaboration and enhanced functionality from AST software configuration ensuring a flexible and powerful scheduling engine.
The Techman Arm is currently installed with HyveTM, a Collaborative Autonomous Robot, designed to discover advancements in formulation chemistry and biotechnology, specific for integration and automation in laboratory environments. Hyve is unique in the turnkey laboratory automation marketplace and sets new standards for many laboratory processes which were previously not automatable due to the unique modularity and functionality of the system and the collaborative human-robot nature of the platform. Indeed, AST specialise in looking at applications for which automation does not typically even exist.
The Hyve platform is especially suited to complex processes and is being applied to many new lab automation processes in laboratory and cosmetics environments. Some examples of where they can be deployed include; cosmetics in-vitro SPF-factor testing, hair-care testing such as forced degradation studies and creaming and difficult sample preparation for HPLC and GC-MS analytics.
Cobots are a hot topic in the industrial environment currently as more and more industries are adapting to this IR4 change. Collaborative robots are providing manufacturers with paradigm shift in safe, versatile, easy-to-use automation that supports human endeavour. In order to stay competitive, companies need to begin to integrate innovative robot systems to provide flexible production lines to fit the ever-changing customer needs and product requirements. What better way to do this than using a Cobot alongside humans.
The Techman Robot Arm uses SQLite database for enhanced data integrity and to standardise data storage and retrieval and reporting of production data. SiLA (Standards in Laboratory Automation) device connectivity standards have also been installed for process control and to allow full compatibility with Applied Scientifics Lab-of-the-Future product portfolio including, Deft, the Digital Enabled Formulation Toolset, an App-based, networkable lab instrument integration and control system for integration into any laboratory.
